國(guó)外70年代就已研制成鐵合金包芯線(xiàn),我國(guó)80年代發(fā)來(lái)采用冷軋鋼帶包覆鐵合金等粉劑技術(shù),研制成硅鈣合金、鈦鐵、鋁鐵、硼鐵、硅鋇合金等鐵合金包芯線(xiàn)，井廣泛應(yīng)用在現(xiàn)代煉鋼的喂絲技術(shù)中，產(chǎn)生了顯著的效果，鐵合金的消耗大幅度降低。
Ferroalloy cored wire has been developed in foreign countries since 1970s. In China, powder technology such as coating ferroalloy with cold rolled steel strip was adopted in 1980s to develop ferroalloy cored wire such as silicon calcium alloy, titanium iron, aluminum iron, boron iron and silicon barium alloy. It has been widely used in modern steel- making wire feeding technology, resulting in remarkable effect and greatly reducing the consumption of ferroalloy.
